SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Sekjen PSSI Yunus Nusi membantah rumor pemain naturalisasi Timnas Indonesia dibayar untuk bermain. Hal tersebut diungkapkan ketika Nusi menanggapi pertanyaan Anggota Komisi X DPR Yoyok Sukawi.
“Alhamdulillah mereka ini tidak pernah meminta atau berkeinginan diberikan kompensasi. Kebetulan juga tim kita yang datang langsung ke Belanda, langsung mendatangi orang tua mereka. Bahkan keinginan kembali ke Indonesia dan memperkuat Timnas Indonesia, lebih kepada keinginan orang tua dan kakek-neneknya, agar kembali ke Indonesia untuk berjuang memperkuat Timnas Indonesia.”
Sebelumnya, beredar rumor di antara masyarakat bahwa pemain naturalisasi Timnas Indonesia dibayar untuk membela Skuad Garuda. Hal inilah yang ditanyakan Sukawi dan dibantah oleh Nusi. Pada lain kesempatan, Exco PSSI Arya Sinulingga juga membantah rumor tersebut.
