Mahamadou Diawara Tinggalkan Timnas U-19 Prancis Setelah Adanya Larangan Berpuasa

SEAToday.com, Prancis - Pemain Timnas Prancis U-19 Mahamadou Diawara memutuskan untuk meninggalkan skuad setelah adanya larangan untuk menjalankan ibadah puasa selama pemusatan latihan (TC), Kamis (21/3).  

Sebagai seorang Muslim, ia mengaku keberatan dan merasa tidak nyaman dengan aturan yang ditetapkan oleh Federasi Sepak Bola Prancis (FFF) dan memilih kembali ke klubnya, Olympique Lyon. Setelah kembalinya Diawara ke klub, FFF kini memanggil pemain FC Nantes, Dehmaine Tabibou Assoumani sebagai penggantinya. Skuad asuhan Bernard Diomede tersebut akan menjalani 2024 Euro U-19 Elite Tour.

Sebelumnya, Presiden FFF Philippe Diallo melarang para pemain di level junior maupun senior untuk berpuasa dengan alasan "prinsip netralitas", sehingga tidak ada atlet yang terikat dengan aturan agama. 

"Saya menegaskan kembali bahwa dalam kerangka netralitas inilah seleksi kita berfungsi secara konkrit, yang berarti bahwa kita tidak mengubah kondisi praktik seleksi kita karena alasan agama," ujar Philippe Diallo.
