Dua gol tersebut dicetak oleh Marselino Ferdinan di menit ke-31 dan 57. Arab Saudi terlihat berusaha membobol gawang Indonesia, namun berhasil diamankan oleh kiper Maarten Paes.
Ini merupakan kemenangan pertama bagi skuad Garuda dan berhasil menempatkan Indonesia di posisi ketiga dalam klasemen sementara grup C dengan 6 poin.
