Maarten Paes, Kiper FC Dallas asal Indonesia Raih Penghargaan Save of The Year MLS 2024
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Kiper Timnas Indonesia yang tergabung dalam klub FC Dallas, Maarten Paes (@maartenpaes), meraih penghargaan Save of the Year dari Major League Soccer (MLS) 2024, Rabu (30/10).
Maarten Paes mencetak sejarah sebagai kiper FC Dallas asal Indonesia pertama yang meraih penghargaan tersebut. Paes berhasil unggul dalam jumlah voting diantara Brad Guzan, Drake Callender, Roman Bürki, hingga Hugo Lloris.
Momen penyelamatan terbaik Paes tercatat ketika Dallas bersua dengan LA Galaxy di babak reguler pada Mei lalu. Kiper berusia 26 tahun ini melakukan double save terhadap tembakan penalti dan tendangan rebound yang dilepaskan pemain LA Galaxy asal Brasil, Gabriel Pec, di Stadion Dignity, Carson, 30 Mei lalu. Paes berhasil membuat 118 penyelamatan dan lima clean sheet yang menjadi catatan terbaiknya sejak bergabung dengan FC Dallas.
