Ketua Umum PSSI Tanggapi Tawaran Negara Lain untuk Jadikan Shin Tae Yong Pelatih
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Pelatih Timnas Indonesia Shin Tae Yong (STY) mengaku mendapat tawaran melatih negara lain setelah tersingkir dari babak 16 besar Piala Asia 2023. Hal tersebut itu diungkap Shin Tae Yong dalam wawancara dengan media Korea Selatan, Sports Kyunghyang, Senin (29/1).
Menanggapi hal tersebut, Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir menegaskan prinsip profesionalisme terkait perpanjangan kontrak Shin Tae Yong, yang mengacu ke dua parameter, yakni lolosnya timnas senior ke 16 besar Piala Asia dan 8 besar Piala Asia U-23. Erick menyatakan, meski sejauh ini puas atas kinerja STY, pihaknya harus memasang target prestasi di level Asia terhadap pelatih yang sudah menangani Indonesia sejak 2019 itu.
Sebagai informasi, kontrak Shin Tae Yong bersama PSSI akan berakhir Juni 2024. Sebelumnya, kontrak empat tahun Shin Tae-yong bersama timnas Indonesia sudah selesai pada Desember 2023.
