Japan Vs Indonesia Results: Defeat for Garuda in Osaka

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian national team suffered a crushing 0-6 defeat from the host Japan in the last match of Group C of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, Tuesday (10/6/2025) afternoon WIB at Suita City Stadium, Osaka.
This defeat did not affect the fate of the Indonesian national team in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. The reason is, Rizky Ridho et al. have been confirmed to qualify for the next round after finishing in 4th place in the standings.
In this match, the Indonesian national team coach Patrick Kluivert made several changes. The reason is, Rizky Ridho and Calvin Verdonk had to be absent due to card accumulation.
As a replacement, Kluivert placed Mees Hilgers, Jay Idzes, and Justin Hubner in the back line.
Japan, who had just lost to Australia 0-1, immediately stepped on the gas from the start. The high-press tactic was applied by Hajime Moriyasu's team to close in on the Indonesian national team's defense.
As a result, Daichi Kamada broke through Emil Audero's goal in the 15th minute. Japan then scored two more goals through Takefusa Kubo (19'), and Kamada's second goal before half-time.
In the second half, Japan did not relax their attacks. Morishita made Audero pick the ball out of his goal again in the 55th minute.
Japan's other two goals were scored by Machino (58'), and Hosoya in the 80th minute. This result established Japan as the ruler of Group C by finishing at the top of the standings.
