Shin Tae-yong Launches STY Academy to Boost Indonesian Youth Football Development
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong has achieved a new milestone in his career by founding a soccer school (SSB) named STY Academy in Indonesia. This was announced on his Instagram account (@shintaeyong_academy), Saturday (11/23). The academy is a significant step in supporting the growth of football in the country, reflecting Shin's commitment to nurturing the next generation of athletes.
As the founder of the STY Academy, Shin Tae-yong has garnered support from various collaborators to ensure its success. Among the key figures involved are Lee Jun-hon, who has taken on the role of CEO, and Kim Jae-hee, who serves as COO. Both are Shin’s compatriots and experienced professionals, joining forces with him to establish a robust foundation for the academy. Shin expressed that the purpose of this initiative is to prepare young talents for the future while promoting the development of youth football in Indonesia.
The academy offers a structured and comprehensive program designed to cater to different age groups and skill levels. According to the official STY Sports Group website, the programs are divided into four categories based on the participants' age:
- Basic 1 and 2 (ages 6-13),
- Execution 1 and 2 (ages 14-15),
- Development 1 and 2 (ages 16-17)
- Transition (ages 18-20)
These programs are tailored to provide age-appropriate training, focusing on technical skills, tactical understanding, physical fitness, and mental development.
The establishment of STY Academy marks an exciting chapter for Indonesian football. By leveraging his extensive experience as a coach and his international network, Shin Tae-yong aims to create an institution that not only hones the skills of young players but also instills discipline, teamwork, and a winning mindset.
